The year 2016 promises to be a year of fabulous transformations! This change is a welcome sigh of relief and will help in grounding a lot of the transformations experienced both individually and collectively. Here’s why: Jupiter and Saturn. These very important planets’ transit into new signs, respectively, this past year.
Kicking off these transits is Jupiter, the planet of luck and fortune (I call it the “big things poppin’ planet”), who transited from Leo to Virgo on August 11, 2015. Virgo is an Earth sign, grounded, stable, detail-oriented, practical, perfectionist. The last time Jupiter visited Virgo was in 2003 and this is the first time in 12 years that such an important event has occurred in the sign of Virgo! Not to worry, every sign gets a turn, every year.
Not to be outdone in the season’s line-up of transformations, is Saturn. On September 17, 2015, Saturn, the taskmaster planet that teaches us structure, order, discipline, responsibility and hard-work, made it’s triumphant entry into Sagittarius. Sagittarius will lay the groundwork for the future by setting up structures that can stand the test of time, with the potential to last for future generations. Saturn teaches us the value of working hard for the things we desire.
When Saturn was in Scorpio (from October 2012 until December 2014), we experienced different forms of intense transformations and rebirth experiences in the Scorpio-ruled house of our charts. For some, the experience was akin to the mythical Phoenix, where we felt as though we had to rise from the ashes that used to be our lives, emerged stronger, wiser, with a deeper knowledge of self and best of all, able to build new structures from the transformations and life changing experiences of the past 2.5 years – that’s how long it takes Saturn to transit through each sign.
When Saturn entered adventurous, optimistic, broad-minded Sagittarius (in December 2014 – on Christmas Eve, to be exact,) for the first time since 1985-1988, we were glad to breathe a sigh of relief and try something new….new businesses….new hair…new makeup…new fashions….new relationships, new jobs, new locations…and so much more. We all carried the lessons learned from the previous 2.5 years into this new beginning. After all, Sagittarius loves branching out into new, uncharted territory.
Well….Not. So. Fast. On June 14, 2015 to August 2, 2015 Saturn’s retrograde back into Scorpio (think of a retrograde motion as a planet in reverse, moving backwards) felt like a teacher checking his students’ homework to ensure lessons learned were applied correctly.
Finally! On August 2, 2015, Saturn ended its retrograde in Scorpio and resumed its forward motion through the last degrees of Scorpio until it made its triumphant entry into optimistic Sagittarius on September 17, 2015, to stay there until Dec. 2017. Awesome, right?
Capricorn (Dec 22-Jan 19)
Ambitious, Responsible, Hardworking. Lover of all things sophisticated. Here’s a celebration of the fabulous things ahead for you.
Capricorn, you are a lover of order and discipline and can always be counted on to have strategies for success. Friends, family and co-workers know they can always count on you to get the job done, the more arduous the task is, the more you prove that you have the capacity to rise to any challenge.
To you, your reputation is priceless and you prefer to keep it that way. You help everyone else get back on their feet with no concern for any sort of payback or compensation.
Routine is what you love and you abhor change – yet this season, the cosmos is asking you to ask yourself the all important question, “What about me?” What do you need to feel satisfied, despite everything you have going on, dear Capricorn? You give so much time to your career, family and responsibilities that you may have started to feel frazzled!
Some of you may have felt a push and pull effect from having to choose between directing your energies into getting a firm grip on the surprises (chaos to a Capricorn!) that seemed to show up around you, rocking your sense of stability OR letting the chips fall where they may.
You may have remained stoic and internalized your emotions because you truly are the strong, silent type.
Finally, dear Capricorn, the reward for all of the above is here! You are not known for being the most adventurous sign, however, getting out of your comfort zone and expanding your horizon, both literally and figuratively is just what Jupiter (planet of luck) is asking you to do as he makes his visit to this area of your chart.
This season, of all the signs of the Zodiac, you have the very best opportunities for traveling, academia and broadening your world-view to include new-found philosophies, people, countries and cultures.
Saturn (the taskmaster planet) will continue helping you define and structure/re-structure your path to your accomplishments as you contemplate deeper levels of spirituality.
Get ready to become a master at broadening your horizon physically, intellectually and academically. Travels anyone?
