The year 2016 promises to be a year of fabulous transformations! This change is a welcome sigh of relief and will help in grounding a lot of the transformations experienced both individually and collectively. Here’s why: Jupiter and Saturn. These very important planets’ transit into new signs, respectively, this past year.
Kicking off these transits is Jupiter, the planet of luck and fortune (I call it the “big things poppin’ planet”), who transited from Leo to Virgo on August 11, 2015. Virgo is an Earth sign, grounded, stable, detail-oriented, practical, perfectionist. The last time Jupiter visited Virgo was in 2003 and this is the first time in 12 years that such an important event has occurred in the sign of Virgo! Not to worry, every sign gets a turn, every year.
Not to be outdone in the season’s line-up of transformations, is Saturn. On September 17, 2015, Saturn, the taskmaster planet that teaches us structure, order, discipline, responsibility and hard-work, made it’s triumphant entry into Sagittarius. Sagittarius will lay the groundwork for the future by setting up structures that can stand the test of time, with the potential to last for future generations. Saturn teaches us the value of working hard for the things we desire.
When Saturn was in Scorpio (from October 2012 until December 2014), we experienced different forms of intense transformations and rebirth experiences in the Scorpio-ruled house of our charts. For some, the experience was akin to the mythical Phoenix, where we felt as though we had to rise from the ashes that used to be our lives, emerged stronger, wiser, with a deeper knowledge of self and best of all, able to build new structures from the transformations and life changing experiences of the past 2.5 years – that’s how long it takes Saturn to transit through each sign.
When Saturn entered adventurous, optimistic, broad-minded Sagittarius (in December 2014 – on Christmas Eve, to be exact,) for the first time since 1985-1988, we were glad to breathe a sigh of relief and try something new….new businesses….new hair…new makeup…new fashions….new relationships, new jobs, new locations…and so much more. We all carried the lessons learned from the previous 2.5 years into this new beginning. After all, Sagittarius loves branching out into new, uncharted territory.
Well….Not. So. Fast. On June 14, 2015 to August 2, 2015 Saturn’s retrograde back into Scorpio (think of a retrograde motion as a planet in reverse, moving backwards) felt like a teacher checking his students’ homework to ensure lessons learned were applied correctly.
Finally! On August 2, 2015, Saturn ended its retrograde in Scorpio and resumed its forward motion through the last degrees of Scorpio until it made its triumphant entry into optimistic Sagittarius on September 17, 2015, to stay there until Dec. 2017. Awesome, right?
Aquarius (Jan 20-Feb 18)
Independent, Innovative, Unique. Lover of all things outside-the-box.
Here’s a celebration of the fabulous things ahead for you.
Aquarius, you absolutely love to dance to the beat of your own drum! Your innovative mind processes information, grasps ideas and develops concepts with the intention of advancing humanity forward. Your ideas and inventions are usually outside-the-box and future-oriented.
This past year, you may have felt a push and pull effect between conforming at work, challenges with management, career upsets, status changes OR bringing your brilliant ideas to life via entrepreneurial endeavors or private practice. Speaking up at work might also have brought unfavorable consequences your way. Thankfully, that’s over now!
Your independent spirit and love of freedom projects an aura that attracts love interests to you, like bees to honey. Lately, they seem to be crawling out of the woodwork! All you had to do was show up and next thing you know, love interests are clamoring for your attention.
How do you maintain a loving relationship without compromising your cherished independence? That seems to be the question on your mind lately as you juggle your psychological responses to this new stimuli.
You work hard to establish your independence in relationships and you transfer the same verve to career and business. You like to come in and get the job done with minimal attachments to people or things. This is not to say that you don’t care, rather, you prefer to process emotions through your intellect – unusual, perhaps but this is the Aquarius way!
Some of you may have started questioning your independent self vis à vis your new interests in the dating and relationship arena, while others may have felt a push and pull effect from having to choose between directing your energies into your careers, your relationship with those in authority or redefining your new status (personal and/or business) to the public e.g. “Are we in a relationship or not?”
Examples could include going from being a confirmed bachelor or single gal to suddenly, out-of-the-blue, wanting to be in a committed relationship!
Finally, dear Aquarius, the reward for your self analysis (especially analysis that includes your network circles e.g Social Media followers) is here!
This season, of all the signs of the Zodiac, you have the very best opportunities for digging deep within yourself, embracing psychological self development in order to determine the type of intimacy that is authentic to your independent nature. However, you will be required to get “naked” with your emotions, to be vulnerable in connecting with your core, your soul, your desire to have love in your life.
Aquarius is not known for being emotional, however, expanding your horizon and getting out of your comfort zone when it comes to emotions, intimacy and the results of true partnership in relationships is just what Jupiter (planet of luck) is asking you to do as he makes his visit to this section of your chart.
Saturn (the taskmaster planet) will continue helping you structure your networks, networking circles, humanitarian endeavors.
Get ready to become a master of dynamic relationships as you give new meaning to your views on relationship ideas and ideals; feminism vs. feminine; being emotionally invested in a relationship vs. maintaining your usual emotional distance i.e. your comfort zone.
